JoyReform Dinners are team meetings in which members dedicate themselves to helping others identify their personal goals and then achieve them. Meetings are hosted by team members.

What to Expect

JoyReform Dinners are small, ongoing groups, made up of people like you. These people will help you make your dreams come true. Why? Because you're going to do the same thing for them. Your dinner team will keep you moving until you discover and achieve your dream.

Each dinner group has 5-6 members who meet every week for 8 consecutive weeks. It will help you figure out what you want, and design a plan of action to get it. It will get you information, contacts and support week after week.

And that's the magic secret. That's why JoyReform Dinners work. Wishes and dreams need a lot of friends because it takes more than the desire to make a wish come true. You need ongoing, sustained effort over an extended period of time. You need support and encouragement when times get tough, and you run into the inevitable interruptions, setbacks, and fears that are part of every journey to the top (You can't find a teacher; someone important cancels an appointment to see you; the bank turns down your loan application...). You'll run into obstacles that seem insurmountable. (Your family doesn't think you should be out earning a pilot's license; you run up against some unforeseen medical bills; you send out 25 manuscripts...and get 25 pink slips in return).

But you'll meet with your JoyReform dinner team every week, and they will keep you going. They'll brainstorm new solutions to new problems; they'll introduce you to a cousin who works at NBC; they'll go with you to that important interview, and wait downstairs and buy you a beer when you're through. You'll work on your dream the same way you worked your way through school: by showing up and reporting in. You had certain small assignments you had to complete one at a time; you had the companionship and the encouragement that humans need. That support is what makes the difference between success and failure: not your attitude, your mantra, or your toothpaste; just lots of ongoing help.

JoyReform Dinners are based on these principles:

1. You are fine as you are

You don't have to change yourself to change your life. Self-improvement may not be possible. It certainly isn't necessary. Use the time and energy to go after your dreams instead.

2. Isolation is the dream killer, not your attitude

No amount of positive thinking can replace information, encouragement, and accountability. You need input and support from other people. They'll tell you things you need to know, encourage and believe in you and keep you moving toward your dream.

3. You are a genius

You're one of a kind. What you love is what you're gifted at. Your talent is coded into your genes and filters everything that has happened in your unique history. You have an original vision and that makes you a genius. The only way to feel satisfied is to listen to your own nature; in other words, to do what you were born to do.

4. It's time to rediscover your dreams & put them back on that table. There are dozens of practical, realistic ways to make every dream possible and JoyReform is dedicated to showing them to you. Fresh ideas, stories of "ordinary" people who achieved their dreams, step-by-step instructions on how to achieve yours, alternative and unusual ways of earning an income (as well as new techniques for finding out what your dreams are!) are what you need to create a life you love.
